Note: We hope you enjoy these free rankings of the nation's top girls teams from StudentSportsBasketball.com. We don't release weekly national girls basketball rankings, but this is our second of several updated lists to set up our final rankings. To read all of our girls rankings and our weekly FAB 50 boys rankings until the end of the prep basketball season, please consider joining our team today.

1. Christ The King (Middle Village, NY) 26-0 (1)
The race for No. 1 is still the Royals to lose and they still will likely have to play and defeat Murry Bergtraum a second time in the New York Federation state finals. In a 77-51 triumph last week over Mary Louis, All-American Tina Charles rampaged for 45 points and hauled down 21 rebounds.

2. Collins Hill (Suwanee, GA) 31-1 (2)
Coach Tracey Tipton told her team after it won a second straight Class AAAAA state title with a 65-55 win over South Gwinnett last Friday that in her mind "they are the No. 1 team in the country." All-American Maya Moore led the Eagles with 32 points, 16 rebounds and three blocks. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution also wrote that Collins Hill "staked its claim as one of the greatest teams in Georgia history." The team's only loss came in overtime to Christ The King in the title game of the Nike Tournament of Champions in Arizona.

3. Murry Bergtraum (New York, NY) 22-1 (3)
Coach Ed Grezinsky's squad will play JFK of the Bronx in the Public School Athletic League semifinals on Saturday. The Blazers rolled over Midwood in the quarterfinals, 87-58, as All-American Epiphanny Prince poured in 40 points. If Bergtraum does get a win over Christ The King in the New York final and it's a win by more than two or three baskets, it will be hard to not jump the Blazers over Collins Hill for the final No. 1 ranking. The tricky scenario will be if Bergtraum were to win in the final on some kind of fluke last-second play. Then it would be a tossup between the Blazers and Collins Hill.

4. Troy (Fullerton, CA) 30-1 (7)
The Warriors had a bye in the first round of the Southern California Div. II regional playoffs on Tuesday of this week and faced Mt. Miguel of Spring Valley in the semifinals on Thursday night. Troy downed Villa Park, 35-31, last week to win the CIF Southern Section Div. II-A crown. The defending Div. II state champs will have to go the rest of the way without Long Beach State-bound guard Lauren Sims.

5. Lexington Catholic (Lexington, KY) 28-1 (6)
LexCath has already advanced this week in the 11th region tourney of the state all-class playoffs with a 77-42 victory over Western Hills. Kayla Snowden connected on seven of eight shots from the floor and scored 20 points to lead the way. Point guard Nikki Davis added 14 points, nine assists and eight steals.

6. Princeton (Cincinnati, OH) 18-0 (8)
The Buckeye State's No. 1 squad advanced to this week's Division I state district tournament with a sectional final win of 64-28 last week over Centerville.

7. Bishop Amat (La Puente, CA) 31-1 (9)
Candice Brown had 18 points and 10 rebounds as the Lancers won their third straight CIF Southern Section Div. III-A crown with a 54-38 triumph over Alemany of Mission Hills. Amat also entered this week's Southern California regional playoffs with 66 wins in its last 67 games.

8. Regina (Euclid, OH) 23-1 (11)
Advanced to this week's state Division III district tournament with two east sectional tournament wins over Villa Angela-St. Joseph of Cleveland, 79-39, and Berkshire, 86-25.

9. Shabazz (Newark, NY) 28-0 (13)
Previously unbeaten and No. 5 state-ranked Sparta was absolutely no match for Shabazz, which rolled to a 70-27 win on Wednesday night in the New Jersey Group 3 semifinals. Iasia Hemingway had 27 points to pace the scoring. Shabazz plays Monmouth Regional on Sunday in the Group 3 championship game.

10. Southridge (Beaverton, OR) 27-2 (12)
A 14-1 run to open the game by Oregon City put a major scare into Southridge, but Stacey Nichols, Michelle Jenkins and Aarika Hughes all led the Skyhawks back as they claimed the Class 4A state title with a 55-46 last weekend. Nichols had 16 points, the sophomore Jenkins had 17 and eight rebounds despite injuring herself in the game, and Hughes had 11 points and 12 boards.

11. Chief Sealth (Seattle, WA) 29-0 (15)
The Seahawks finished as the Class 3A state champions, blowing a 17-point lead, then rallying from eight down in the final stanza to take a 44-43 decision. Issaquah's Ellen Vertatschitsch missed a 10-footer at the buzzer. The title, however, may have an asterisk as Chief Sealth is being investigated after numerous recruiting allegations were brought forth by the Seattle Times, which led to the suspension of senior starter Valerie Cook prior to the tournament.

12. Oakland Catholic (Pittsburgh, PA) 27-1 (16)
Oakland Catholic survived two Western Pennsylvania challengers to win the WPIAL Class 4A title. It defeated New Castle, 54-50, in the semifinals and handed Mt. Lebanon its second loss, 49-36, in the finals. Oakland Catholic will play Fox Chapel (17-9) in the PIAA Western Region first round this weekend.

13. St. Elizabeth (Wilmington, DE) 24-1 (17)
The Vikings recently posted their second win in three outings against in-state rival Ursuline and will have to play that team again on Friday night in the Delaware state final. In a 67-43 win on Wednesday over Padua, junior standout Khadijah Rushdan was in foul trouble and only scored 12 points, but sophomore sharpshooter Joy Rutland picked up the slack with 23.

14. Bolingbrook (Bolingbrook, IL) 31-2 (20)
The Raiders won the Class AA state title last weekend at Redbird Arena in Normal with a 15-6 run in the fourth quarter that gave them a 45-34 victory in the championship game over Althoff of Belleville. Mauvoleyne Adams had 13 points while Brittany Thomas and Miranda Tate each scored 10.

15. Camden Catholic (Camden, NJ) 26-0 (31)
The No. 2 team in New Jersey won the South Jersey, Non-Public A title on Wednesday night with an easy 70-33 triumph against Holy Spirit. Rutgers-bound center Rashidat Junaid dominated with 32 points to lead all scorers.

16. Incarnate Word (Bel Nor, MO) 29-1 (37)
Powerhouse team from St. Louis area defeated St. Joseph's Academy, 51-42, in the Class 5 quarterfinals last weekend after ousting Lafayette, 56-25, in sectional play. We gave the team a rankings boost since St. Joseph's has a win over Whitney Young of Chicago, one of the top four teams in Illinois this season.

17. St. Mary's (Phoenix, AZ) 26-4 (17)
Senior guard Dymond Simon swished through 30 points as the Knights won the Class 5A state title on Wednesday night of this week with a 69-57 victory over Red Mountain of Mesa. St. Mary's won the title in 2004 in Simon's sophomore year, but the team was upset in the playoffs last season.

18. Princess Anne (Virginia Beach, VA) 29-1 (19)
This ranking is based on results prior to this week and we already know that the Lady Cavaliers have been defeated in its state semifinal playoff game, 56-51, by Edison of Alexandria. Coach Darnell Dozier's team still will likely earn a spot in the final FAB 50 rankings.

19. Edison (Alexandria, VA) 27-1 (nr)
Doreena Campbell connected on 8 of 12 free throws in the final 90 seconds to seal the Eagles' win over Princess Anne in the Group AAA game on Wednesday night. Campbell ended the night with 29 points and led a rally from a 15-point second-half deficit. Edison entered the game as the No. 1-ranked team by the Washington Post and still has to play Forest Park in the state finals. A win in that game would give the Eagles a final top 25 national ranking, so we went ahead and included them in these rankings.

20. Ursuline (Wilmington, DE) 20-5 (18)
Super sophomore Elena DelleDonne, who last week set a record with eight three-pointers and 39 points in a state tourney win against Cape Henlopen, only had 17 but the Raiders still breezed py Caravel, 64-42, on Wednesday night in the Delaware state semifinals. The win sent the two-time defending state champs to Friday night's title game against FAB 50-ranked St. Elizabeth. It will be the teams' fourth meeting of the year.

21. Barron Collier (Naples, FL) 31-2 (nr)
Coach Mike Hamburger's team knocked off previous No. 14 and defending champ Winter Haven, 43-36, to win the Class 5A state title last weekend in Lakeland. Both of the Cougars' losses came to prep schools from New Jersey and they ended the year with an 18-game win streak. It is the first-ever basketball state title for a school from Southwest Florida, although the region is extremely familiar with winning state titles in softball.

22. Oregon City (Oregon City, OR) 24-4 (27)
Southridge's size was just too much as the Pioneers fell to the FAB 50-ranked team, 55-46, in the OSAA Class 4A state final. Kristen Zimel had 13 points and 13 rebounds in the loss. A big semifinal win over Tualatin by 75-65 got Oregon City into the state final. Tualatin entered that game at 28-0.

23. Althoff (Belleville, IL) 33-2 (nr)
The Crusaders, who lost to Bolingbrook last weekend in the Class AA state final, won their two earlier state tourney games by 60-42 over Trinity of River Forest and 56-41 over Maine South of Park Ridge. The win over Trinity was particularly impressive because it came after Trinity upset previous FAB 50 No. 5 ranked Fenwick of Oak Park.

24. Cardinal O'Hara (Springfield, PA) 25-3 (24)
Perennial power from the Keystone State ended its season by repeating as Philadelphia Catholic League champion with a 44-41 overtime victory over Neumann-Goretti of Philadelphia. Heather Scanlon led the way with 14 points.

25. Waxahachie (Waxahachie, TX) 32-6 (nr)
This is the team that knocked out previous No. 7 and defending champ Dunbar from the Class 4A Texas state playoffs. Waxahachie did it with a 51-46 win in the semifinals, going on a 22-6 run in the fourth quarter to do it. Niqky Hughes had 22 points and 12 rebounds, then came back with 21 poings and seven boards in a 52-48 victory vs. Kerrville Ivy in the title game. Waxahachie avenged several of its losses later in the season and the team also should be No. 1 overall for the Lone Star State since it owns a 62-60 head-to-head win over Plano West, which won the Class 5A state crown.
